Hurricane, flood and hail cleanup
Storm Debris Dumpster Rental
Storm and flood cleanups usually need a 20-yard or 30-yard dumpster for drywall, flooring and contents. Wet debris weighs more, and every invoice includes the certified scale ticket, which helps an insurance claim. Book by 3 PM for next-day delivery once roads are open.
Why storm cleanups need a plan here
The Houston and Gulf Coast area sees hurricanes, derechos and flooding that leave whole streets of debris at once. After a big storm, demand for dumpsters jumps on the same days. Calling early, with your size picked, gets you on the schedule sooner.

- July 8, 2024: Hurricane Beryl made landfall near Matagorda, Texas, and its winds brought down trees and power lines across the Houston area. (source)
What storm debris goes in a dumpster?
Drywall, carpet, flooring, furniture, fencing, shingles and limbs all go in a storm debris dumpster. Wet material is heavy, so a 20-yard of flood-soaked drywall and carpet can pass 3 tons. Refrigerators with Freon are $50 each; chemicals and batteries are not allowed.
Dumpster or city storm curbside pickup?
After declared disasters, many cities run free curbside debris pickup with sorting rules, such as separate piles for vegetation, construction debris and appliances. A dumpster costs more but clears the house in days instead of waiting for collection rounds. Check your city's storm debris page.
What size dumpster for flood or storm damage?
A flooded single-story home usually fits a 20-yard or 30-yard dumpster for drywall, flooring and contents. Fence and roof storm damage fits a 15 or 20-yard. Wet debris adds weight, so check the included tons before loading everything soaked.
How your final bill is worked out
Storm bills follow the same rule as any rental: quoted price, plus weight over the included tons at $75 per ton, billed by the pound from the certified scale ticket. Keep the ticket for your insurance claim.

Questions renters ask
Will my insurance pay for a storm debris dumpster?
Many homeowner policies cover debris removal as part of a covered claim, but every policy differs. Ask your adjuster, and keep the invoice and scale ticket we send for your file.
Can flood-soaked carpet and drywall go in a dumpster?
Wet carpet, pad and drywall all go in. They weigh much more wet, so expect to reach the included tons sooner. Let material drain where you can before loading.
Can I put a flooded refrigerator in the dumpster?
A refrigerator or freezer goes in for $50 because its refrigerant must be recovered first. Remove spoiled food before loading.
How soon can I get a dumpster after a storm?
Book by 3 PM for next-day delivery once roads are open. After big storms, schedules fill fast, so call as soon as it's safe.
